OUR STORY
Horrorsmith started at a kitchen table, not a boardroom.
We are The Smiths—Daniel, Lyndsey, and our four kids—a military family used to new towns, new schools, and figuring out how to build something from nothing, no matter where the orders send us. Through countless deployments, we learned about loyalty, and we learned about fear. We always used our love of horror to reconnect when my Daniel came home. Halloween, after all, has always been one of our favorite holidays, so it only made sense that the macabre would seep into every other part of our lives too. And somewhere along the way, that fear we learned to face together turned into stories and dreams of our own.

Story letter Creators
The inspiration for our first story letter category, The Dead Letter Dispatches, came after my oldest daughter, Julia, watched a horror movie about liminal spaces. She asked me how crazy it would be if there were ordinary places we go to for work or entertainment where you just become...trapped...
And here we are.
I have been writing spooky stories since I was in the fourth grade. My daughter is seventeen, and together, we are better at unsettling a reader than I am alone. We plot every twist side by side, and every letter you get in the mail has both of our fingerprints on it.

Murder Mystery Partners
A very wise person once said, "Passing the ten-year mark means you are no longer just friends; you are family."
My best friend, Kristian Lowery, and I have been finishing each other's thoughts for over thirteen years, and we are now finishing each other's crime scenes. If you have ever solved one of our mysteries, you have been a very welcomed guest inside one of our five-hour-long conversations, hailing from entirely different sides of the country. Currently separated but never far from each other's heart.
